Abraham has extensive experience in handling complex litigation both in judicial and arbitration jurisdictions. He has successfully counseled numerous national and international companies in the resolution of delicate disputes. He perfectly combines the practical experience he has achieved by participation in various and varied litigation and the high technical quality, that he has polished throughout his years as professor in the Law Faculty of the University of Costa Rica in the Civil Procedural Law, General Procedures Theory and Private Contracts courses.

 

Abraham is also member of several organizations in which he participates actively such as the Civil and Commercial Committees of the Bar Association, the Legal Affairs Committee of AmCham in which he is chair of the Competition Subcommittee, Costa Rican Institute of Procedural Law and Panamerican Institute of Procedural Law.

Alejandra has more than twelve years of experience in the field of Tax Law, been specialized in the attention of local and regional tax consulting processes. She has led tax restructuring processes, as well as due diligences, merger and acquisition of different companies, both local and international and has also extensive experience in the field of tax litigation, at both administrative and judicial stages, as well as special processes carried out before different instances of the Ministry of Finance.

Alejandra has been instructor of the Specialization Program in Tax Law of the Chamber of Industries of Costa Rica and been a member of the Legal Affairs Committee and the Taxation Subcommittee of the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM). She has participated in tax consultancy processes with public institutions, such as the Bank of Costa Rica, its subsidiaries (during the years 2011-2012) and the Institute of Municipal DevelopmentIFAM (during the years 2010-2011).

Alejandro is a professional of wide and recognized trajectory. For more than 30 years he has participated as a lawyer in complex litigation and arbitration matters, advised important companies in matters related to administrative contracting, restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, consumer issues, and many others. He also has participated as a member of several Board of Directors of many important companies. 

All this arduous professional work has been accompanied by an intense academic activity as professor in the Autonomous University of Central America and the University of Costa Rica, where he has been professor of Administrative Law courses. He has also made several specialized publications and has participated as speaker in several conferences.

Alejandro has also had a strong cultural involvement as a former member of the Board of Directors of the National Theater and, because of his professional services for years to the French Embassy and to the French culture in general, he has been condecorated with the highest distinction granted to a civilian by the French Government as Knight of the Order of Merit and Knight of the Legion of Honor. 

Alejandro has also served the public function as he was an alternate magistrate of the Constitutional Chamber for 8 years.

Raquel has an interdisciplinary background that allows her to maintain relevant experience in the main areas of Environmental Law and Sustainability. She has obtained that experience by advising companies, government agencies, multilateral organizations and ONGs in the area of administrative procedures related to the compliance and enforcement of the environmental legislation. Also by performing environmental audits for ISO 14001/OHSAS, and environmental due diligence and risk analysis for mergers and acquisitions. Moreover, by participating in the elaboration of norms and policies in the environmental and energy sector.

Raquel has stood out for giving legal-technical advice as far as the environmental and energy are concerned. Due to her academic qualifications and work experience she has acquired a global vision of how the government operates, and she understands the rationale of industrial environmental management.
